Canon EF Zoom lens 28 mm-135 mm - f/3.5-5.6 IS USM
I bought this on the many many reviews I read online. I was overwhelmed with how many people own this lens so I thought I would be pretty set getting one. I can't afford L lenses so this seemed the best solution.
Took in on holiday and was not overly impressed. I got some wonderful shots and the depth of field is really great to create pro looking shots. Problem being when you look at them at 100% they are all soft. Maybe I got a bad lens, I am not sure. I will try using the lens with a tripod and compare the shots I took.
Don't get me wrong - I don't hate the lens but for the money you spend I expected more.
Overall just OK for me dog...

thanks mrp - a good review. i wonder if the lens will ever drop in price. I read on another review that if you turn of the USM feature when shooting you can remove the softness. don't know if that helps you
