Great Product. TOVO Support terrible. I bought one of these to try and test. I was prompted from the website after registration that the TOVO phone numbering system had changed and that I would be required to migrate my 07911 number to an 020 number and if I didnt then nobody would be able to call me. When I tried to do this online the website was full of errors and failed to change the number. I submitted numerous requests to support to change it for me and they have never replied. I am now left with a product that I cant use, which is a shame as its a very appealing product. Zero Star Rating as its totally useless at the moment.

There is a support phone number but all is says is that the person you are trying to reach is currently unavailable. Been trying for 2 days constantly, over and above submitting support requests and also trying website over and over. This will well and truly put their business to sleep if it continues.

that's rubbish. And I suppose Tesco don't offer support so I wonder if that is why it is on special.

I've emailed Tesco as well about it as basically they are selling a product thats not fit for purpose but I'm still waiting for a reply as I only emailed them this morning. Possibly the reason they are selling them on the cheap. I noticed they are selling both the Wireless VoiP and the Dual Mode one as well. Anyone buying these will have problems.

I've given up. I gave them their chance and they blew it. TOVO Support are absolutely hopeless. I've now reconfigured the whole phone to work with my Tesco Internet Phone number so I will be taking my subscription out with Tesco instead. I now have a swanky slick n sexy wireless WiFi phone as my landline on Tesco Internet Phone. Goodbye TOVO. May the assets fall from your Balance Sheet and obliterate any business remaining, which will not be much if your support keeps up its state of inertia.

Hi. Its not too difficult at all although I had to read the manual for a few minutes to understand how to connect it to my wireless router. Once you connect the phone to your wireless router, check the manual to view the IP address of the phone, this is usually 192.168.x.x where x represents the remaining numbers in the IP address depending on how your network is set up. Once you get the IP address of the TOVO phone then go to Internet Explorer and type in the IP address in the address bar and click go. you will then be prmopted for a login and password to the phone. The default for editing the phones user profiles is login: root password: 888888 This will allow you to access the phones user configuration menu and enter the SIP details of your provider. These are standard settings for any SIP Provider. If you dont know how to configure a SIP phone then you will end up in tears like me lol, but I got there in the end. I use my phone as my main 'landline' number phone with tesco internet phone settings and I've never had any issues with dialing out at all and the voice quality has always been satisfactory, better than mobile quality and slight less than PSTN quality but overall 4+ Star rating on call quality for me. The only issue I have and I dont know why it happens, is that every now and again it doesnt recognise an incoming call. I havent the foggiest why, I can only think that the session is either timing out in someway but if i switch the phone off and then on every so often its seems to recognise incoming calls without any problems at a ll. When I make a call it works 100% every time so I cant complain and thats what I use it for mainly so it works for me. If your looking for a permanent replacement for your landline then personally I'd choose to use the Tesco IPA1000 Adaptor, call quality was excellent for me and no to distinguish between PSTN landline and Tesco Internet Phone call at all. Use a DECT phone plugged into the adaptor and you've got a full wireless solution thats robust and reliable. I used to have that but changed it as It involved having to have 2 mains plugs. But its an extrememly good alternative to the PSTN landline costs. I cut my phone bill down from £200 per year (Virgin Media) to under £50 per year since going with Tesco and I still get as good quality calls. How you set it up is personal preference. Hope this helps. Cheers.

Hi Thanks for the quick and lengthy mail. I had a IPA 1000 which stopped working and Tesco dont do them anymore so they are giving me £35.00 voucher.I was planning to go for the TOVO. Do u think it is a good replacement for IPA 1000? mo

Its definitely a good replacement but I'd prefer the IPA soley based on call quality, this is only due to calls compared on a DECT phone to the TOVO are always going to be different quality due to the different type of phones and design. In my opintion the TOVO is a better solution as its wireless and doesnt involve any plus or separate phone, you just treat it like a mobile phone and recharge it when required.
